    I came back from a 11-day Japan trip on Sunday, and I remember seeing exactly one automated bike parking structure. With their low crime rates, they generally simply leave bikes in assigned spaces on the street, in the best case locking one of the wheels (to prevent it from turning). Unfortunately, we don't have this luxury in New York.
